The 24th IncluDE Lunch Seminar was held on July 1, 2025.
The 24th session featured two presentations by UCHIBORI Asako, ISHIHARA Koji. The presentation materials are available in the archive.
In this lunch seminar, we exchanged information on the implementation of our subject “AI Sign Language Interpreting Project” in engineering and on human rights models in the area of mental health care.
After the two presentations, we shared information about the students’ impressions of the subject “AI Sign Language Interpreting Project” and the process of having the AI learn actual signs. We also discussed the problems of the social system in terms of both pathologization and de-pathologization in the field of psychiatry, and the relationship between the human rights model and the social model.

※The IncluDE Lunch Seminars, organized by the Office for DEI Coproduction Strategies, have been held about twice a month since the establishment of IncluDE in April 2024. These seminars provide an opportunity for concurrent faculty and full-time members of IncluDE research divisions to share their cutting-edge research in DEI-related areas.
The seminars aim to generate new insights for both practice and research by bringing together faculty members who are researching various minority issues, including not only barrier-free and gender/sexuality issues but also nationality, ethnicity, religion, language, and others, fostering a frank exchange of opinions.
