17th IncluDE Lunch Seminar was held

The 17th IncluDE Lunch Seminar was held on March 24, 2025.

The 17th session featured two presentations by YAMANAKA Shunji, YOKOYAMA Hiromi. The presentation materials are available in the archive.

In this lunch seminar, the participants exchanged information on inclusive design that respond to the needs of users and provide support, and we also exchanged information on the results of a survey on the low ratio of female researchers in science and engineering, and how to put this information to practical use.

After the two presentations, we exchanged ideas on how to shift from the premise of “competing by bringing out individual abilities” in sports and all academic fields to a perspective of “allowing diverse people to participate, and genuinely enjoying and gaining pleasure from one’s own growth”.

※The IncluDE Lunch Seminars, organized by the Office for DEI Coproduction Strategies, have been held about twice a month since the establishment of IncluDE in April 2024. These seminars provide an opportunity for concurrent faculty and full-time members of IncluDE research divisions to share  their cutting-edge research in DEI-related areas.

The seminars aim to generate new insights  for both practice and research by bringing together faculty members who are researching various minority issues, including not only barrier-free and gender/sexuality issues but also nationality, ethnicity, religion, language, and others, fostering a frank exchange of opinions.
