The 20th IncluDE Lunch Seminar was held on May 13, 2025.
The 20th session featured two presentations by SON Bo-kyung, ITO Takane. The presentation materials are available in the archive.
In this lunch seminar, we exchanged information on gender differences in frailty in old age and prevention of frailty through “Ikigai”, as well as on the history of sign language research and the linguistic characteristics of sign languages.
After the two presentations, we discussed the impact on frail prevention due to changes in the “Ikigai” of elderly women as the number of older female workers increases, as well as the similarities between sign language and spoken language. Also, We exchanged ideas on how to generate terminology in different sign languages.

※The IncluDE Lunch Seminars, organized by the Office for DEI Coproduction Strategies, have been held about twice a month since the establishment of IncluDE in April 2024. These seminars provide an opportunity for concurrent faculty and full-time members of IncluDE research divisions to share their cutting-edge research in DEI-related areas.
The seminars aim to generate new insights for both practice and research by bringing together faculty members who are researching various minority issues, including not only barrier-free and gender/sexuality issues but also nationality, ethnicity, religion, language, and others, fostering a frank exchange of opinions.
